Commemoration of 70th Anniversary of Independence and 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement
70st INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Freedom in the mind,
Faith in the words…..
Pride in our souls…..
Lets salute the nation on this auspicious day.
The school celebrated the 70st Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm befitting the occasion. The program commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the chief guest and school Principal Rev.Sr.Sali Thomas. The prestigious march past comprising of four house contingents namely Father Triest, Mother Placid,St.Vincent and St. Bernard filled every one with pride and honour. The chief guest hoisted national flag and all the students and teachers saluted the flag. The cultural performance set pitch and the variety presentations eg: patriotic songs, skit, scintillating dance performance presented by the students. It was a proud moment to watch the students showcasing their talent like a dreamand spread the essence of tricolours wrapped in emotions and pride for our mother land. The celebrations came to a close with the sing of the national anthem.
A pledge taking ceremony(New Indian Pledge):
This time on 15th August 2017, our PM makes us to take pledge called new India pledge(Sankalp Se Sidhi). This pledge shall be making new India by 2022. It was organised on 28.08.2017as mentioned in circular No. Acad-28/2017, dated 8th August 2017 in which all the teachers students and staff members participated with full zeal and conviction to make India clean and rid the country from the problem of poverty, corruption, terrorism, communalism and casteism. The mission of ‘Swachh Bharat” was also promulgated. The pledge was as follows-

In 1942 our freedom fighters took a pledge of ‘Quit India’ and in 1947 India achieved Independence.
Let us together pledge that by 2022 we build a new India
Let us together pledge towards a Clean India
Let us together pledge towards a Poverty- free India
Also Let us together pledge for a Corruption-free India
Let us together pledge for a Terrorism-free India
Let us pledge towards a Communalism-free India
Let us together pledge towards a Caste-free India.
Together let us strive whole heartedly to accomplish this pledge for a New India. The students whole heartedly spoke and promised to serve the nation and achieve the set goals in the next five years.
